Job summary

Helix Electric Inc is seeking a Project Engineer Intern to support our project teams on construction projects. You will work closely with the Project Manager, field crew, and office staff to learn planning, scheduling, budgeting, and estimating processes while gaining hands-on experience.

You will build relationships, track materials, support safety, assist with change orders, and coordinate with BIM and procurement.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a bachelor's degree in construction management or related field.
• Previous construction or internship experience preferred.
• Strong initiative and motivation.
• Solid math skills for data analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Good organizational skills and teamwork.
• Commitment to continuous process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Support project managers and define project objectives and planning.
• Track materials with vendors and coordinate with field teams.
• Champion safety culture and monitor jobsite safety.
• Assist with change orders and estimating using Accubid.
• Analyze subcontract agreements for scope and pricing.
• Support procurement of materials and equipment.
• Collaborate with BIM for coordination and planning.
• Maintain detailed job logs (transmittals, RFIs).
• Assist in quality control and labor scheduling.
• Aid in planning and delivery of prefabricated assemblies.
• Learn trades on site and contribute to company performance.
