Job summary

Helix Electric Inc. is seeking an intern for a Project Engineer role to support the Project Manager as liaison between field and office. You will help plan, execute, and finalize projects on schedule and within budget while gaining hands-on construction experience.

This internship offers exposure to multiple project types, phases, and teams through a mentor program. Starting pay ranges from USD 21.00 to 26.00 per hour, with bonus and benefits potential, relocation/housing options, and the chance

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in a related construction field.
• Previous construction or internship experience preferred.
• Highly motivated with initiative.
• Basic math skills to analyze data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Good organizational skills.
• Able to work with all levels of the organization.
• Mindset for continuous improvement of processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with project managers, subcontractors, engineers, and vendors.
• Collaborate with superintendent to track material and coordinate with vendors.
• Champion Helix safety culture on site.
• Engage in Change Order process and assist with estimating.
• Analyze subcontract agreements to understand scope and pricing.
• Assist with material and equipment procurement.
• Coordinate with BIM and participate in planning processes.
• Produce and maintain detailed job logs (transmittals, submittals, RFIs).
• Monitor quality control and manage labor schedules.
• Create and order prefabricated assemblies for planning and delivery.
• Walk jobsites to learn the trade and improve company performance.
