Job summary

Helix Electric Inc. offers an internship program where you will work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and engineers to support project objectives and stay within budget and schedule.

You will gain hands-on experience across procurement, coordination, and documentation in a busy construction setting. You will be mentored by seasoned professionals through Helix's University Relations Team, focusing on real project impact and skill development that extends beyond graduation.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in construction-related field.
• Prior construction or internship experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic math skills for data analysis.
• Good organizational skills.
• Ability to work with all levels of the organization.
• Mindset for continuous process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with project managers, subcontractors, engineers, and vendors to support a team approach.
• Collaborate with superintendent to track materials and coordinate with vendors.
• Support safety culture on the jobsite and monitor safety practices.
• Assist in Change Order processes and learn estimating with Accubid.
• Analyze subcontract agreements to understand scope and pricing.
• Involvement with material procurement and scheduling.
• Coordinate with BIM and assist in planning and coordination.
• Produce and maintain detailed job logs (transmittals, submittals, RFIs).
• Monitor quality control and assist with labor scheduling.
• Help create and order prefabricated assemblies for on-time delivery.
• Walk jobs and learn the trade to improve company performance.
