Job summary

Daifuku Intralogistics America Corporation is seeking a Project Engineer to design and install industrial material handling storage systems, from quotes through final engineering. The role covers steel racks, platforms, conveyors, and custom products for large distribution centers.

You will use AutoCAD, coordinate with vendors and internal teams, manage time and cost, and travel up to 30%. A bachelor's in mechanical engineering and 3 years of design experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of engineering design and project execution.
• Experience engineering or construction experience, preferably in the material handling industry.

Responsibilities

• Performs diverse, specialized, and complex work involving significant accountability and decision-making responsibility.
• Designs new automated and semi-automated material handling systems and proposes modifications to existing equipment; customizes standard designs based on customer specifications and scope documents.
• Creates description of operation documents to ensure designs meet customer expectations.
• Creates approval, permit, installation, and fabrication drawings using AutoCAD.
• Obtains material and product quotes from vendors and issues purchase orders and estimates costs.
• Monitors the project schedule, engineering time, and material costs.
• Works with other disciplines on project team to make sure engineered solution and all equipment fit within system confines and constraints.
• Travels up to 30%
