Job summary

Daifuku North America is seeking an engineer to design and enhance conveyor systems and other material handling solutions. You will coordinate with mechanical, electrical, industrial engineering, controls, software, and project management teams to meet safety, reliability, throughput and cost targets.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, internship experience in material handling, and proficiency with AutoCAD/SolidWorks and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical or Industrial, or equivalent experience.
• Experience, such as an internship, within the material handling industry.

Responsibilities

• Design/Enhance conveyor and automated material handling systems.
• Review designs for compliance with engineering principles and customer requirements.
• Coordinate activities related to technical developments, scheduling, and testing issues.
• Create approval, permit, and installation drawings using AutoCAD.
• Obtain quotes from vendors and issue purchase orders.
• Monitor project schedule, engineering time, and material costs.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to fit system constraints.
• Travel up to 20% to measure buildings, inventory equipment, and interface with customers.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects.
• Resolve engineering issues by working with customers, vendors, and team members.
