Job summary

Daifuku North America is seeking a Project Engineer to design and implement automated material handling storage systems from quote to final engineering. You will create designs for conveyor, shelving, and racking structures and generate operation and fabrication drawings. Travel up to 30% is required.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 3 years engineering design experience preferred. Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office/Projects is expected; knowledge of SharePoint and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of engineering design and project execution experience.
• Experience in material handling industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Designs new automated and semi-automated material handling systems and proposes modifications to existing equipment; customizes standard designs based on customer specifications and scope documents
• Creates description of operation documents to ensure designs meet customer expectations
• Creates approval, permit, installation, and fabrication drawings using AutoCAD
• Obtains material and product quotes from vendors and issues purchase orders and estimates costs
• Monitors the project schedule, engineering time, and material costs
• Works with other disciplines on project team to ensure engineered solution fits within system constraints
• Travels up to 30%
