Job summary

Software Placement Group in St. Petersburg, FL is seeking a Project Engineer for its civil construction team. The role supports the Project Manager and Superintendent, reviews contracts and specs, and helps maintain project schedules using Primavera P6.

Ideal candidates have 5–8 years in heavy civil construction, a BS in Civil Engineering, and proficiency with Primavera P6, Excel and Word. Tampa Bay locals or willing to relocate welcome, with full-time on-site work and project bonus potential.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of civil construction experience in office and field.
• Experience managing multiple activities on heavy civil work.
• B.S. in Civil Engineering required.
• Proficient in Primavera P6, Excel and Word.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Based in the Tampa Bay area or willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Review the contract and specifications in their entirety.
• Support the Project Manager and Project Superintendent on day-to-day project needs.
• Prepare and update the project schedule in Primavera P6.
• Track quantities, project costs and forecasting.
• Obtain pricing from subcontractors and vendors, including change orders.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and crews to resolve field conflicts.
• Support monthly billing, cash flow projections and change order processing.
• Run document control for submittals, contract documents and record drawings.
• Review HeavyJob daily reports for accuracy.
• Keep NPDES permits, the SWPPP, inspections, survey staking and joint measurements with the owner on track.
