Job summary

Rudolph & Sletten, a Tutor Perini Company, is hiring a Project Engineer for our Menlo Park, CA office. The role involves coordinating field activities, reviewing designs, and managing document flow across Submittals, RFIs, and close-out logs to support major California projects.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management and at least one year of related experience, with proficiency in Excel and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum one year of field experience or related area.
• Strong Excel/MS Office proficiency.
• Procore or similar construction software knowledge is a plus.
• Blueprint reading knowledge required.
• Scheduling and estimating software familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Attend weekly meetings and transcribe detailed meeting minutes clearly, precisely, and accurately.
• Inspect construction site daily and coordinate with subcontractors for deliveries.
• Review designs and drawings for craftsmanship, materials, and compliance.
• Review Submittals and Shop Drawings for contract compliance.
• Research and resolve drawing interpretation problems and initiate RFIs as needed.
• Initiate and process RFIs and review responses for completeness.
• Understand and manage the PCO change order process and submission to Owner.
• Maintain distribution routing of Submittals, RFIs, Close Out, and other docs to consultants, Owner, and subs.
• Coordinate submittals between subcontractors and maintain expediting logs.
• Prepare field design changes and as-built drawings when required.
• Provide status reports, punch lists, and material calculations to supervisor.
• Demonstrate professionalism and contribute to team goals.
