Job summary

Rudolph & Sletten, a Tutor Perini Company, is seeking a Senior Field Engineer to join our Menlo Park team. You will focus on field operations, ensuring plans and specifications are followed with quality control and accurate reporting.

You will interact with Project Managers, Subcontractors and QA/QC staff, coordinating with suppliers, reviewing submittals, and preparing as-built drawings while maintaining safety and schedule discipline on large projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in the field as a Project Engineer.
• Experience with large commercial projects; healthcare, higher education, corporate campuses, justice, science & technology is desired.
• Ability to communicate well with multiple levels of personnel.
• Knowledge of plan reading required.
• Intermediate knowledge of Windows OS; Excel, Word, Outlook.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD product line.
• Knowledge of scheduling, estimating and cost software.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates understanding of standard concepts, practices and procedures within construction field.
• Interprets designs and drawings for crafts installing materials and qualifications.
• Understand necessary control lines and elevations for accurate measurement and correct installation of materials or equipment.
• Review submittals against specifications.
• Reviews mock-up and/or shop drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate with Subcontractors and Suppliers.
• Responsible for review and maintenance of subcontractor non-compliance and coordinates with QA/QC.
• Prepares field design change requisitions and “as built” drawings, as required.
• Demonstrates schedule understanding in coordination with construction logistics and sequencing.
• Prepares and disseminates all required documentation records such as status reports, punch lists, sketches, material calculations.
• Ensures compliance with OSHA regulations and safety practices.
• Performs quantity takeoffs and related cost considerations.
