Abbott Construction is seeking a Project Engineer in Olympia, WA to support the Project Manager and Superintendent across all project phases. The role focuses on submittals, RFIs and change order management, with budget updates and safety responsibilities.

The position requires a 4-year construction-related degree, 2+ years of project engineering experience, and preference for healthcare construction. A strong emphasis on processes, ownership, and constructive communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Must pass a drug test.
• A 4-year degree in a construction-related major is required.
• 2+ years of project engineering experience.
• Preferred experience in Healthcare construction and fast-paced environments.
• Strong emphasis on following processes and owning the role, with clear communication when delivering bad news.

Responsibilities

• Manage submittal process.
• Manage RFI process.
• Manage change order proposals.
• Provide research and support for PM and Supt.
• Update budgets in Viewpoint as required.
• Support safety alignment with company values.
• Coordinate planning, scheduling and project coordination.
• Assist estimating with subcontractor outreach and plan distribution.
• Main point of contact for subcontractors.
• Act as Project Manager when required.
