Job summary

Abbott Construction seeks a Project Engineer to support the Project Manager and Superintendent across all project phases. You will help manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, and maintain budget revisions while ensuring safety and collaboration across teams.

Ideal candidates have a construction-related degree, 2+ years of project engineering experience, and a focus on process ownership and tough conversations when needed. Healthcare experience is preferred, with long-term career intent.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a drug test.
• 4-year degree in a construction related major.
• Motivated for a long-term career in construction.
• 2+ years of project engineering experience.
• Preferred experience in Healthcare construction and fast-paced construction managing multiple projects concurrently.
• Focus on following processes, ownership, and clear communication when required.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager and Superintendent to meet project goals across all phases.
• Manage the submittal process.
• Manage the RFI process.
• Manage change order proposals.
• Provide research, backup support, and data entry as requested by PM/Supt.
• Complete budget revisions in Viewpoint as required.
• Assist to maintain safety aligned with Abbott's values.
• Coordinate planning, scheduling, and project coordination to meet deadlines.
• Assist estimating by soliciting subcontractors and distributing plans.
• Be main contact for subcontractors as requested by PM.
• Act as Project Manager when PM unavailable.
