Abbott Construction is seeking a Project Engineer in Port Townsend, WA to support the Project Manager and Superintendent across all project phases. You’ll manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, and budgeting while coordinating plans, subcontractors, and safety programs.

The role emphasizes ownership, process discipline, and the ability to balance engineering methods with construction execution, including potential PM duties when required.

Qualifications

• Must pass a drug test.
• 4-year degree in a construction related major.
• 2+ years of project engineering experience.
• Healthcare construction experience preferred.
• Strong commitment to following processes and taking ownership.

Responsibilities

• Manage submittal process for projects.
• Oversee RFI process and change order proposals.
• Assist PM and Supt with budgeting and cost tracking in Viewpoint.
• Support planning, scheduling, and coordination to meet deadlines.
• Coordinate with estimating by soliciting subcontractors and distributing plans.
• Serve as main contact for subcontractors; step in as PM when needed.
• Support safety initiatives aligned with Abbott's values.
