This position offers hands-on commercial construction experience, exposure to multiple projects in the Baton Rouge area, and a path toward a long-term career with an established Louisiana contractor.

Qualifications

• Education - Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience - 1+ year in project management, field supervision, estimating, or preconstruction for commercial GC or subcontractor.
• Construction knowledge - Familiarity with planning, scheduling, estimating and commercial construction trades.
• Technology - Proficient with MS Office; familiarity with construction PM, estimating and scheduling software.
• Business skills - Strong budgeting, financial analysis, and interpersonal skills.
• Regional commitment - Ability to work from and support projects in Baton Rouge with travel to regional sites.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

The Project Engineer supports the Project Management team in the day‑to‑day technical and administrative operations of assigned commercial construction projects. This role assists with contract administration, procurement, document control, financial and risk management, scheduling, quality control, and coordination with field operations from startup through completion and closeout. The Project Engineer reports to the assigned Project Manager and has no direct reports.

Qualifications

• Education - Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience - One or more years of professional experience in project management, field supervision, estimating, or preconstruction for a commercial general contractor or subcontractor.
• Construction knowledge - Familiarity with project planning, scheduling, estimating, and commercial construction trades.
• Technology - Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and familiarity with construction project‑management, estimating, and scheduling software.
• Business skills - Solid math, budgeting, and financial‑analysis skills, along with strong teamwork, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Regional commitment - Ability to work from and support projects in Baton Rouge, including travel among regional jobsites as needed.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
