Job summary

Broadmoor, an employee-owned contractor in Shreveport, is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the Project Manager from startup through closeout on active Northwest Louisiana projects.

The role assists with contract administration, procurement, document control, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management, and may mentor Project Engineers. Exempt position with ESOP ownership and strong teamwork, communication, and field coordination.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Two+ years of project management, field supervision, estimating, or preconstruction experience on commercial projects.
  • Working knowledge of project planning, scheduling, estimating, and commercial construction trades.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and familiarity with PM software.
  • Solid math, budgeting, and financial-analysis skills, plus teamwork and communication.
  • Willingness to work from and travel to Shreveport / Northwest Louisiana market.

Responsibilities

  • Support Project Manager in startup through closeout of assigned projects.
  • Assist with contract administration, procurement, document control, scheduling, and cost management.
  • Support financial and risk management, quality control, and coordination with field operations.
  • Supervise and mentor Project Engineers as assigned.

The Opportunity

Broadmoor is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our Project Management team in Shreveport. With an established backlog of work in Northwest Louisiana, this position offers the opportunity to contribute to active commercial construction projects while building experience in a market with potential for continued growth.

Position Summary

The Assistant Project Manager supports the Project Manager or Senior Project Manager in leading assigned projects from startup through completion and closeout. This role assists with contract administration, procurement, document control, financial and risk management, scheduling, quality control, and coordination with field operations. The Assistant Project Manager may also supervise and mentor Project Engineers as assigned.

FLSA classification: Exempt.

Qualifications
  • Education - Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience - Two or more years of professional experience in project management, field supervision, estimating, or preconstruction for a commercial general contractor or subcontractor.
  • Construction knowledge - Working knowledge of project planning, scheduling, estimating, and commercial construction trades.
  • Technology - Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and familiarity with construction project-management, estimating, and scheduling software.
  • Business skills - Solid math, budgeting, and financial-analysis skills, along with strong teamwork, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Regional commitment - Ability to work from and support projects in the Shreveport / Northwest Louisiana market, including travel among regional jobsites as needed.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment

The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. The role regularly involves sitting, standing, walking, speaking, hearing, using a computer, and occasionally lifting or moving office equipment up to 20 pounds. Work is performed in office and jobsite environments and may include outdoor work, inclement weather, water, dust, dirt, grease, fumes, chemicals, equipment noise, and vibration.
