COMPA Industries in Los Alamos, NM seeks a Project Engineer 2 to lead planning, design, field execution and project closeout, ensuring technical excellence and timely delivery. You will be the technical lead across multiple teams.

Requirements: US citizenship with DOE Q clearance, ABET‑accredited engineering degree and 3+ years of experience, and 100% onsite availability. This is a challenging role in a regulated environment. Salary is $60–$65 hourly with full benefits and relocation support.

• Provide technical support for construction teams during installation and commissioning
• Facilitate stakeholder communication, including AHJ and SMEs
• Ensure compliance with LANL’s Conduct of Engineering and NQA-1 standards

Minimum Qualifications

• Working knowledge of engineering contracts and construction interfaces
• Familiarity with engineering codes and standards (NEC, IBC, ASME, etc.)
• Effective communicator; strong interpersonal skills for cross-team collaboration
• Experience in technical documentation and submittal review
• Proficiency in MS Office, Teams, and willingness to learn LANL tools

Desired Skills

• Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE)
• Familiarity with DOE orders (e.g., DOE O 413.3B), glovebox systems, and AutoCAD
• Previous experience in regulated environments (DOE, DoD, pharma, oil/gas)

Education and Experience Requirements

• Required: Bachelor’s in Engineering + 3 years’ experience
• Desired: Advanced degree or professional certification (EIT/PE)
