Job summary

COMPA Industries in Los Alamos, NM seeks a Project Engineer 2 to lead planning, design, field execution and project closeout, ensuring technical excellence and timely delivery. You will be the technical lead across multiple teams.

Requirements: US citizenship with DOE Q clearance, ABET‑accredited engineering degree and 3+ years of experience, and 100% onsite availability. This is a challenging role in a regulated environment. Salary is $60–$65 hourly with full benefits and relocation support.

Qualifications

• US citizenship and ability to obtain DOE Q Clearance.
• Bachelor’s in Engineering (ABET-accredited) with 3+ years of experience.
• Must be available for 100% onsite work; hybrid/remote not allowed.
• Experience with engineering contracts and construction interfaces.
• Familiarity with NEC, IBC, ASME and other codes.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead across planning, design, field execution, and project closeout.
• Manage design change processes and coordinate with internal/external teams.
• Provide technical support for construction during installation and commissioning.
• Facilitate stakeholder communication with AHJ and SMEs.
• Ensure compliance with LANL Conduct of Engineering and NQA-1 standards.
