Job summary

COMPA Industries in Los Alamos, NM seeks a Project Engineer 2 to lead planning, design, field execution and project closeout, ensuring technical excellence and timely delivery. You will be the technical lead across multiple teams.

Requirements: US citizenship with DOE Q clearance, ABET‑accredited engineering degree and 3+ years of experience, and 100% onsite availability. This is a challenging role in a regulated environment. Salary is $60–$65 hourly with full benefits and relocation support.

Qualifications

US citizenship and ability to obtain DOE Q Clearance.
Bachelor’s in Engineering (ABET-accredited) with 3+ years of experience.
Must be available for 100% onsite work; hybrid/remote not allowed.
Experience with engineering contracts and construction interfaces.
Familiarity with NEC, IBC, ASME and other codes.

Responsibilities

Serve as technical lead across planning, design, field execution, and project closeout.
Manage design change processes and coordinate with internal/external teams.
Provide technical support for construction during installation and commissioning.
Facilitate stakeholder communication with AHJ and SMEs.
Ensure compliance with LANL Conduct of Engineering and NQA-1 standards.
