Job summary

Superior Skilled Trades is seeking an experienced Project Engineer for a 100% travel role across the Southeast and West Texas. The position supports an EPC firm that self-performs much of the construction work on utility-scale solar projects.

Requirements include a Civil Engineering degree, Spanish a plus, and proficiency with MS Office and scheduling tools such as Primavera (P6) or Microsoft Project. Travel is extensive and compensation starts at $75k with annual bonus opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline required.
• Spanish-speaking a plus.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite and project scheduling software such as Primavera (P6) or Microsoft Project.

Responsibilities

• Completes engineering projects by organizing and controlling project elements.
• Develops project objectives by reviewing proposals and plans with management.
• Assigns personnel to project phases and reviews contractor bids.
• Determines specifications by studying product design and customer requirements.
• Prepares cost estimates from technical studies.
• Confirms product performance by designing and conducting tests.
• Estimates scheduling time, sequences elements, and tracks progress.
• Controls costs by approving expenditures and managing contracts.
• Generates status reports and analyses trends for action.
• Maintains project data by writing and backing up databases.

DIRECT HIRE

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) firm that self-performs a significant portion of the construction for utility-scale solar projects. This position requires 100% travel, primarily throughout the Southeast and extending as far as West Texas. Recent college grads are encouraged to apply.

Salary and Benefits

• Salary starts at $75,000, please let us know what you desire, since salary is negotiable depending on experience
• Annual bonus of 10%, possible 10% kicker on top of the first 10%

Responsibilities for Project Engineer

• Completes engineering projects by organizing and controlling project elements.
• Develops project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans and conferring with management.
• Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements, assigning personnel to phases and elements, and reviewing bids from contractors.
• Determines project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards.
• Completes technical studies and prepares cost estimates.
• Confirms product performance by designing and conducting tests.
• Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications, calculating time requirements, and sequencing project elements.
• Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems.
• Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan, scheduling changes, and recommending actions.
• Controls project costs by approving expenditures and administering contractor contracts.
• Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions.
• Maintains project data base by writing computer programs; entering and backing up data.

Requirements for Project Engineer

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or other related discipline required
