Job summary

Superior Skilled Trades seeks an experienced Project Engineer for a DIRECT HIRE role in the Southeast travel region. The engineer will self-perform construction for utility-scale solar projects and coordinate multiple project elements across sites.

The position requires a Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree and offers 100% travel, with a negotiable salary starting at $75,000 plus bonus potential and per-diem. Benefits include medical/dental/vision, 401k, PTO, and more.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
• Spanish-speaking a plus.
• Proficient with MS Office; exposure to Primavera (P6) or MS Project.

Responsibilities

• Organize and control project elements to complete engineering projects.
• Develop project objectives by reviewing proposals and plans with management.
• Assign personnel to project phases and review bids from contractors.
• Study product design, customer requirements, and performance standards to determine specifications.
• Prepare cost estimates and conduct technical studies; design tests to confirm performance.
• Determine and manage project schedule, monitor progress, and resolve issues.
• Review design, specifications, and plan; control costs and expenditures.
• Prepare status reports and maintain project data.

DIRECT HIRE

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) firm that self-performs a significant portion of the construction for utility-scale solar projects. This position requires 100% travel, primarily throughout the Southeast and extending as far as West Texas. Recent college grads are encouraged to apply.

Salary and Benefits

• Salary starts at $75,000, please let us know what you desire, since salary is negotiable depending on experience
• Annual bonus of 10%, possible 10% kicker on top of the first 10%

Responsibilities for Project Engineer

• Completes engineering projects by organizing and controlling project elements.
• Develops project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans and conferring with management.
• Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements, assigning personnel to phases and elements, and reviewing bids from contractors.
• Determines project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards.
• Completes technical studies and prepares cost estimates.
• Confirms product performance by designing and conducting tests.
• Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications, calculating time requirements, and sequencing project elements.
• Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems.
• Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan, scheduling changes, and recommending actions.
• Controls project costs by approving expenditures and administering contractor contracts.
• Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions.
• Maintains project data base by writing computer programs; entering and backing up data.

Requirements for Project Engineer

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or other related discipline required
• Spanish-speaking a plus
• Proficient with MS Office Suite of tools, exposure to schedule software, Primavera (P6) or Microsoft Project
