Job summary

SST Direct is seeking an experienced Project Engineer for a DIRECT HIRE role, with 100% travel across the Southeast and as far as West Texas. Recent grads are encouraged to apply. Salary starts at $75,000 and is negotiable based on experience, with a 10% annual bonus and a possible 10% kicker on top of the first bonus.

Per‑diem, company truck, and comprehensive benefits are provided. Candidates should hold a BS or MS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, be proficient with MS Office,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field required.
• Spanish-speaking a plus.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite; exposure to scheduling software (Primavera P6 or MS Project).

Responsibilities

• Completes engineering projects by organizing and controlling project elements.
• Develops project objectives by reviewing proposals and plans with management.
• Determines project responsibilities by identifying phases and assigning personnel; reviews bids from contractors.
• Determines project specifications by studying design, customer requirements, and performance standards.
• Completes technical studies and prepares cost estimates.
• Confirms product performance by designing and conducting tests.
• Determines project schedule by studying plan, calculating time, sequencing elements.
• Maintains project schedule by monitoring progress, coordinating activities, resolving problems.
• Controls project plan by reviewing design, scheduling changes, and recommending actions.
• Controls project costs by approving expenditures and administering contractor contracts.
• Prepares project status reports by collecting and summarizing information and trends.
• Maintains project data base by writing computer programs and backing up data.

This position requires 100% travel, primarily throughout the Southeast and extending as far as West Texas. Recent college grads are encouraged to apply.

Requirements for Project Engineer

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or other related discipline required
• Spanish-speaking a plus
• Proficient with MS Office Suite of tools, exposure to schedule software, Primavera (P6) or Microsoft Project
