Job summary

Superior Skilled Trades is seeking an experienced Project Engineer for 100% travel across the Southeast and beyond, including West Texas. The role involves leading EPC projects self-perform construction, with emphasis on schedule, cost control, and technical testing.

Requirements include a civil engineering degree (B.S. or M.S.) and proficiency with MS Office; Primavera P6 or MS Project experience is preferred. Spanish is a plus; recent grads are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Experience with EPC project environments is a plus.
• Spanish-speaking a plus.

Responsibilities

• Organize and control project elements to complete engineering projects.
• Review proposals and plans with management to set objectives.
• Assign personnel to project phases and review contractor bids.
• Study product design and performance standards to determine specifications.
• Prepare cost estimates and conduct technical studies.
• Design and conduct tests to confirm product performance.
• Develop and monitor project schedules and sequences.
• Review design and plan changes; control costs and contracts.
• Document project data and generate status reports.

DIRECT HIRE

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) firm that self-performs a significant portion of the construction for utility-scale solar projects. This position requires 100% travel, primarily throughout the Southeast and extending as far as West Texas. Recent college grads are encouraged to apply.

Salary and Benefits

• Salary starts at $75,000, please let us know what you desire, since salary is negotiable depending on experience
• Annual bonus of 10%, possible 10% kicker on top of the first 10%

Responsibilities for Project Engineer

• Completes engineering projects by organizing and controlling project elements.
• Develops project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans and conferring with management.
• Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements, assigning personnel to phases and elements, and reviewing bids from contractors.
• Determines project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards.
• Completes technical studies and prepares cost estimates.
• Confirms product performance by designing and conducting tests.
• Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications, calculating time requirements, and sequencing project elements.
• Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems.
• Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan, scheduling changes, and recommending actions.
• Controls project costs by approving expenditures and administering contractor contracts.
• Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions.
• Maintains project data base by writing computer programs; entering and backing up data.

Requirements for Project Engineer

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or other related discipline required
• Spanish-speaking a plus
• Proficient with MS Office Suite of tools, exposure to schedule software, Primavera (P6) or Microsoft Project
