Job summary

SST Direct seeks an experienced Assistant Project Manager to join an EPC firm that self-performs a significant portion of the construction for utility-scale solar projects. This role requires 100% travel, primarily across the Southeast and extending to West Texas.

Salary starts at $80,000 with negotiable terms based on experience; includes annual bonus of 10% and a potential 10% kicker, plus a per-diem and comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience; 2–4 years in an Assistant Project Manager role on large-scale utility solar projects or field experience on-site.
• Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office programs.
• Organized and detail oriented.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel to different solar projects throughout the United States.

Responsibilities

• Oversee overall project management and oversight of large-scale utility solar projects.
• Assist in tracking budget delivery, scheduling, change orders, and purchase orders.
• Interact regularly with Owner and align with client needs; submit regular reporting as required.
• Maintain relationships between customers and subcontractors.
• Monitor construction activities, productivity, and prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports.
• Administer QA/QC program as work progresses.
• Assist project manager and O&M team to effectively close out projects.
• Assist in contracting and managing Subcontractors and vendors for the site.
• Coordinate with engineering and field team to troubleshoot field challenges.
• Assist in cost forecasting for projects.
• Conduct pre-construction trade meetings and coordinate inspections and subcontractor relationships.
• Assist project engineers with RFIs and Submittals.
• Ensure subcontractors onsite keep project on schedule and within budget.

Assistant Project Manager Responsibilities

• Responsible for overall project management and oversight of large-scale utility solar projects.

Assistant Project Manager Requirements

• Qualified candidates must have an associate degree or equivalent experience, 2-4 years’ experience as an Assistant Project Manager on large-scale utility solar projects or field experience working on site on Large Scale Utility Solar projects
• Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office programs
• Organized and detail oriented.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to travel to different solar projects throughout the United States.
