Job summary

AllCom Global Services / STRANTECH in Reston, VA seeks a Project Cost Accountant to manage setup and maintenance in Costpoint for diverse contracts (Cost Plus, T&M, WIP, Fixed Price). This role supports billable projects and provides operational project reporting to accounting and finance.

You will collaborate with teams, prepare PSR and Revenue summaries, and assist with month-end close while ensuring policy compliance and accurate cost reporting.

Qualifications

• Government contract accounting/finance experience required.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field.
• 3+ years of relevant work experience.
• Ability to secure and maintain DoD security clearance if required.
• Must pass pre-employment drug and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Initial project setup at award of contract.
• Processing contract modifications.
• Creating new charge codes, PLC rates additions and maintenance.
• Employee workforce initial setup.
• Collaborating with PMs to establish WBS and initial budget setup.
• Wage Determination setup and maintenance.
• Collaborating with internal customers to ensure accurate revenue recognition, billing, and cost reporting requirements are met.
• Ensuring Financial Accounting Policies and Processes are met while processing requests.
• Creating and distributing mid-month, monthly Project Status Reports (PSRs) and Revenue Summary Reports.
• Resolving day to day labor errors due to improper time charging and/or setup issues.
• Researching and resolving revenue issues as identified by Program Managers.
• Troubleshooting Deltek Costpoint and Time Collection issues for PMs and other users.
• Serving as a liaison between operations teams and corporate accounting and finance resources.
• Assist with monthly close process & account reconciliations.

Job description

JOB SUMMARY

Project Cost Accountant will maintain all aspects of new direct and indirect project setup and existing project maintenance in Costpoint for projects of various contract types to include Cost Plus, Time & Material, Work in Process, Fixed Price. This position is in Reston, VA and will directly support existing contracts as a billable position as well as provide operational project reporting working in conjunction with the company accounting and finance organizations. The position reports directly to the Director of Accounting.
