Overview

We’re looking for an Project Controller to join our team in Huntsville, AL. This role plays a critical part in project cost control, financial reconciliation, and audit readiness, especially in a government contracting and manufacturing setting. This position is onsite only (no hybrid/remote), with a 9/80 schedule available after 90 days.

What You’ll Do

• Reconcile subledgers to the general ledger across multi-year projects
• Manage Deltek Costpoint project and materials modules
• Prepare adjusting entries & maintain audit-ready documentation
• Support audits (DCAA/DCMA/internal) and compliance with FAR, DFARS, CAS
• Analyze budgets, indirect cost allocations, and project burn rates
• Oversee AP coding and alignment with CLINs and project budgets
• Collaborate cross-functionally with PMs, Contracts, and Supply Chain
• Improve internal processes and documentation
• Experience with government billing processes

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years in GovCon cost accounting or project controls
• 3+ years hands-on Deltek Costpoint experience (Projects & Materials)
• Strong grasp of FAR, DFARS, CAS, indirect rate structures
• Experience reconciling legacy financial data and resolving discrepancies
• Understanding of T&M, CPFF, and FFP contract types
• Exposure to BOMs, MRP, and manufacturing cost flows
• Experience with WAWF, IPP, or related platforms
• Familiarity with Power BI, Cognos, or Costpoint dashboards
• Prior support in engineering, MRO, or GovCon manufacturing
• Experience with government billing processes
• Excellent communication and documentation skills

• Salary: $85,000.00/yr - $100,000.00/yr (base pay range provided by DirectPath Recruiting Services)
