Job summary

Acara Solutions in Fremont, CA is seeking a detail-oriented Project Coordinator (Technical Documentation & Engineering Programs) for a contract, onsite/part-time role (20/30 hours per week). Qualifications

  • 2+ years in project coordination or technical writing or related roles.
  • 2+ years creating/editing technical documentation and procedures.
  • 2+ years supporting engineering, manufacturing, or product development.
  • 2+ years using Microsoft Office applications with advanced Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Teams.
  • 1+ years supporting PLM processes and documentation workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate engineering projects, documentation activities, and process improvements.
  • Develop, edit, and maintain technical documentation including design/test procedures.
  • Collaborate with engineers and SMEs to gather requirements and translate concepts into clear docs.
  • Support PLM documentation and process initiatives.
  • Maintain document standards, revision control, and indexing; coordinate meetings and deliverables.
  • Create project reports, dashboards, and status updates for stakeholders.
  • Assist with SharePoint site maintenance and workflow activities.
  • Support meeting-room tech setup and engineering design review activities.
  • Manage documentation updates and scheduling changes in a fast-paced environment.

Job Title: Project Coordinator (Technical Documentation & Engineering Programs)

Compensation: $46.43

Schedule: Onsite/Flex - Part Time - 20/30 Hours a week

We’re seeking a detail-oriented Project Coordinator with strong technical writing and documentation experience to support engineering teams within a leading semiconductor product development organization. In this role, you’ll coordinate projects, manage documentation initiatives, support engineering processes, and collaborate with subject-matter experts to create clear, accurate, and standardized technical content.

Job Requirements
What You’ll Bring:
  • 2+ years of experience in project coordination, technical writing, engineering support, documentation management, or related business operations roles.
  • 2+ years of experience creating, editing, and maintaining technical documentation, procedures, standards, work instructions, or engineering documents.
  • 2+ years of experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, product development, or technology-focused organizations.
  • 2+ years of experience using Microsoft Office applications, including advanced Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • 1+ years of experience supporting Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) processes, systems, or documentation workflows.
  • 1+ years of experience coordinating project schedules, deliverables, stakeholders, or cross-functional activities.
  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of related experience; advanced degree without experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
What Sets You Apart:
  • Experience with SharePoint document archival, document management, and workflow administration.
  • Experience editing and collaborating on documents using SharePoint, OneDrive, and co-authoring tools.
  • Experience developing reports or dashboards using Power BI.
  • Experience with QuickBase or similar workflow/project management platforms.
  • Strong Excel expertise, including:
    • Pivot Tables
    • VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
    • Advanced Formatting
    • Graphing and Data Visualization
  • Ability to simplify complex technical content for a variety of audiences.
  • Experience managing competing priorities, urgent requests, and schedule changes.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and independent work capabilities.
  • Experience supporting semiconductor, engineering, manufacturing, or product development teams.
