Job summary

Aleron is seeking a Technical Writer II to support manufacturing operations in Tualatin, OR on a contract basis. You will create, edit, and maintain work instructions, assembly procedures, and test documentation that translate complex engineering information into clear, actionable content for production teams.

Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and support groups to capture changes, ensure compliance, and drive quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of technical writing experience in manufacturing environments.
  • 2+ years creating, editing, or maintaining technical work instructions or procedures.
  • 1+ year supporting manufacturing operations or assembly/test environments with complex systems.
  • 1+ year reviewing documentation for compliance with engineering requirements and quality standards.
  • 2+ years using Microsoft Office (PowerPoint and Excel).
  • Bachelor's degree plus 2+ years related experience or equivalent.

  • Create, edit, and maintain manufacturing work instructions, assembly procedures, test documentation, and operational processes.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Support to capture process changes and future build requirements.
  • Develop clear written and visual instructions for complex assembly and test operations.
  • Conduct audits of work instructions and guide technicians through documentation reviews and validation.
  • Interpret schematics, 3D models, diagrams, and layouts to improve technical content.
  • Support continuous improvement projects focused on efficiency, quality, and process consistency.
  • Maintain updates from escalations and engineering changes.
  • Translate technical information into user-friendly documentation for diverse audiences.

What You'll Bring
  • 2+ years of experience in technical writing, manufacturing engineering, production support, process documentation, or related manufacturing environments.
  • 2+ years of experience creating, editing, or maintaining technical work instructions, procedures, assembly documentation, or manufacturing process documentation.
  • 1+ years of experience supporting manufacturing operations, production processes, or assembly/test environments involving complex systems.
  • 1+ years of experience reviewing documentation for compliance with engineering requirements, quality standards, and manufacturing processes.
  • 2+ years of experience using Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of related experience, advanced degree with relevant experience, or equivalent work experience.

  • Experience presenting technical information and training manufacturing personnel.
