Suburban Consulting Engineers, Inc is seeking a Project Coordinator (Civil) to join our New Jersey offices in Flanders or Hackensack. The successful candidate is pursuing or maintaining a Professional Engineer license and has 8+ years of civil engineering experience, with hands-on involvement in concept and detailed design, QA/QC, and client coordination.

This role requires strong scheduling and budget skills, mentoring of team members, and effective communication with clients.

Title: Project Coordinator (Civil)
Reports to: Project Manager
Location: Flanders or Hackensack, NJ
Salary Range:$95,000 – $105,000, based on experience and qualifications

Brief Description:

The candidate shall be working towards or maintain a Professional Engineer’s (PE) License in the United States (preferably New Jersey) with 8 years of experience, Candidate will be engaged in concept and detailed design, planning, specifications, QA/QC, regulatory approvals, general management and supervisory responsibility in the Civil Engineering industry. Experience in the preparation and review of private development applications, Municipal Zoning Code, Residential Site Improvement Standards (RSIS) and NJDEP Permitting Requirements. Must have the ability to organize assigned work and develop effective work methods. Responsible for the scheduling and management of a project team in support of the project’s profitable operation.

Schedule:

Candidate can expect to work approximately 100% of their week in the Flanders or Hackensack, NJ office (hybrid arrangements will be reviewed following 90 days of employment). Company hours are Monday – Friday, 8am to 5pm.

This position generally works standard business hours, Monday through Friday. However, occasional site visits, field work, client meetings, or business-related events may be scheduled outside of normal working hours. Flexibility in schedule is required to meet business and client needs.

• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• 8+ years of related experience.
• PE License track preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Proficient in AutoCAD (AutoCAD Civil 3D experience a plus).
