Job description

Title: Client Portfolio Manager
Reports to: Client Management Department Manager
Location: Flanders, NJ
Salary Range: $115 – $140K commensurate with experience

Brief Description:

The Client Portfolio Manager is responsible for overall relationship building with all State Funding/Grant recipient Clients throughout the full project lifecycle. The Client Portfolio Manager is responsible for realizing success for all Clients receiving various project funding relief. He/she is expected to develop a funding client-level portfolio development plan, have a comprehensive knowledge of the client’s goals, develop a vertical relationship system through the client organization, develop a client lifecycle plan, work with the assigned project delivery team, monitor project delivery in compliance with SCE’s Process Flow Diagram, secure and grow sales and revenue in accordance with SCE’s revenue forecast. The Client Portfolio Manager should check in regularly and document feedback with action items from both the client and the SCE project team throughout the project process.

Examples of work/duties:
  • Following and implementing SCE’s standardized business practices and Process Flow Diagram.
  • Strict adherence to SCE’s Core Values.
  • Fulfill PIC role on State Funding/Grant projects or phases where applicable and appropriate.
  • Serve as Client Manager for State Funding/Grant recipient Clients when appropriate.
  • Pro-actively work with Client/Project Managers in support of all State Funding/Grant recipient clients.
  • Recognizing State Funding/Grant recipient clients’ problems and needs and identify opportunities for cross-selling SCE’s broad range of professional services.
  • Developing and sustaining professional and personal relationships at the leadership levels of State Funding/Grant recipient client organizations.
  • Being responsible for the overall financial performance of all projects within a State Funding/Grant recipient client portfolio.
  • Being a highly visible advocate of SCE through active participation in professional and industry organizations.
  • Collaborate with State Funding/Grant recipient client and project teams to meet client needs and project requirements.
  • Developing and managing State Funding/Grant recipient proposal efforts and presentations.
  • Negotiating critical issues with State Funding/Grant recipient clients and potential teaming partners and subconsultants.
  • Assistance with technical approaches and strategies with project team during proposal stage to meet client needs.
  • Assist / mentor Project Manager on individual State Funding/Grant recipient projects to communicate with clients on increased scope and/or additional project needs.
  • Secure required backlog aligned with SCE’s revenue forecast for all State Funding/Grant recipient Clients.
  • Communicating client expectations and SCE expectations to project teams.
  • Engaging in routine proactive coordination with other Managers and internal discipline/departments to meet business objectives.
  • Performing and coordinating client audits and developing/implementing actions to address issues uncovered in the client audit.
  • Continually focus on making it easier for the client to do business with SCE.

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 10 years’ progressive project management experience within Civil Engineering, Land Surveying, or Environmental Sciences industries.
  • Experience in sales, management of varied discipline projects.
  • Strong client relationships with varied discipline clients within geographic area of SCE’s current projects and anticipated geographic areas of expanded growth.
  • Strong interpersonal, time management, organization, and listening skills
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Proficient in Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint Project Management Software – preferred.

This is a full-time position located at our Headquarters Office in Flanders, NJ. The work hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. SCE offers excellent compensation and benefit packages including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) plan, and paid holidays for this position.
