Job summary

The Planet Group is seeking a Project Control Specialist to manage scheduling and cost functions across strategic construction projects. The role covers development through close-out, including accruals, forecast updates, and contract oversight.

Requires strong experience with Primavera P6, EVMS, and cross-functional collaboration. Onsite position based in Marshalltown, IA, with responsibilities spanning budgeting, schedule analysis, vendor coordination, and stakeholder reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, technical, engineering, construction, project management or related area.

Responsibilities

• Interfaces with Project and Corporate teams on execution of the project.
• Lead resource on project controls items and ensure contract terms compliance.
• Provide training to users on scheduling processes and tools.
• Prepare detailed project estimates and forecasts reflecting risks and change orders.
• Coordinate with accounting/finance for project accounting and forecasting.
• Perform monthly accruals and journal entries.
• Review schedules to ensure progress reflects contractual dates.
• Advise project team on performance concerns and solutions.
• Monitor project risks and coordinate issue resolution.
• Obtain action plans to support construction efforts.
• Perform quantity takeoffs to validate estimates and progress.
• Interface with vendors and contractors for cost/schedule data.
