Job summary

Stantec seeks a Project Controller or Project Controls Analyst to manage project finances across the Great Lakes, Midwest, Mountain or West regions. The role interfaces with internal and external stakeholders and supports budgets, forecasts, and cost controls for multiple projects.

Qualified candidates have 3–5 years in project controls or related finance roles, a BS or technical degree, and strong Excel/ERP experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in all aspects of budget and cost controls, including budgeting and forecasting.
• Understanding contract commercial terms and project accounting requirements.
• Familiarity with Earned Value Management principles.
• Ability to coordinate with internal and external business processes.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication; able to build relationships across teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide budget, contract, and financial management support to Project Managers.
• Assist with maintaining the life cycle of projects per client requirements and guidelines.
• Coordinate with project accounting to ensure timely invoicing per contracts.
• Audit project reports for financial impacts and gross profit optimization.
• Assist with monthly forecasts and financial estimates for projects.
• Support WBS/Cost Breakdown Structures for budgeting and setup.
• Perform and manage all budget and cost control functions.
• Prepare month-end, variance, and ad hoc reports as required.
• Perform analytics on project data for continuous improvement.
• Complete financial reconciliations; may mentor others over time.
