Job summary

Bolton & Menk, Inc. in Mankato, MN, is hiring a Billing Specialist to join our Accounting team. This role collaborates with project teams to invoice clients and provide accounting support within a well-established, community-focused firm.

You will review agreements, apply billing rates, use our electronic invoicing system, and help maintain records. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, 401(k) match, ESOP, PTO, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in accounting or closely related field.
• Four (4) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with various bill rate methods including fixed hourly rates, hourly cost plus and lump sum.
• DOT, County, government agency invoicing experience preferred.
• Experience with Deltek or Deltek Vantagepoint software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform standard billing functions of the firm including reviewing project agreements and establishing billing terms to accurately invoice client.
• Identify, establish, and apply project specific billing rates per agreement.
• Utilize Electronic Invoicing program to review billable labor and expense charged to projects.
• Identify and resolve concerns to ensure accurate client invoicing.
• Produce/update client payment forms including MnDOT exhibits, progress reports, pay claims etc.
• Submit invoices through client specified online portals.
