Job description

Purpose by Design Architects (PXD) is a full-service architectural practice dedicated to thoughtful, collaborative, and purpose-driven work that strengthens communities, advances sustainable design, and makes a lasting positive impact on our city and future generations.

We are seeking a Project Architect with 6 to 8 years of experience in the design, execution, and management of both new construction and renovation projects. The ideal candidate has experience in NYC multifamily affordable housing, along with strong familiarity with local zoning, building codes, and regulatory processes.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to projects from concept through construction, with increasing independence and in close collaboration with the Principals and senior project leadership. Responsibilities will include design development, technical documentation, code and zoning research, consultant coordination, field investigation, and participation in construction administration. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently on defined aspects of projects while knowing when to seek guidance and collaborate with senior staff.

Candidates must reside in the New York City area. Salary range $75,000 - $95,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
