Base pay range

$125,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yr

A mid-sized architecture firm recognized for its sustainable and socially equitable design in adaptive reuse, education, and affordable housing is seeking a Senior Architect to join the team and play a key role in mentoring staff and managing the studio.

This is a leadership role with a team of five reporting directly to this individual. The Senior Architect will guide project execution, foster team growth, and help shape the studio’s culture and strategic direction.

The right person for this role is passionate and deeply committed to advancing affordable housing and socially impactful design, ensuring every project contributes to a more just and equitable New York.

Prior experience in working with affordable housing agencies in New York is required.

Work Schedule

• Full-time
• Hybrid: 3 days in-office, 2 days remote

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-disciplinary project teams from concept through completion
• Oversee project scope, schedule, budget, staffing, and planning
• Partner closely with clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure project success
• Mentor, inspire, and develop junior staff while managing studio culture and performance
• Champion design excellence with a focus on equity, sustainability, and affordable housing

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Architecture required
• Registered Architect with 15+ years of professional experience
• Proven leadership in project and team management
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to present and coordinate across diverse stakeholders
• Experience with New York City public agencies required; particularly in affordable housing
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
• Working knowledge of Revit and CAD
