LJA Accounting in Hoover, AL is seeking a Project Accounting Specialist to handle billing, project setup, and reporting across multiple projects. You will collaborate with Project Managers, Collections, and administration to ensure accurate invoicing and revenue recognition.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a billing position.
• Proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Experience billing for public/government clients with knowledge of rate schedules and multipliers.
• Experience with ERP project-based accounting systems (Deltek, Clearview/InFocus, BST).
• Experience with invoice submittal via client portals is a plus.
• Experience in Engineering or Construction industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Setting up and maintaining projects.
• Invoicing clients weekly/monthly – lump sum, time & material, or % of completion.
• Preparing detailed backup documentation for invoices.
• Providing project, billing, A/R and other reports as needed.
• Assisting Project Managers and Collections with AR issues.
• Analyzing revenue and job cost.
• Reviewing subcontractors' contracts and insurance certificates for compliance.
• Reviewing accounts payable and coding, entering as needed.
• Archiving project and contract documents.
• Collaborating with project managers and administration.
• Communicating with client contacts for billing/receivables.
• Completing special projects as requested by management.
