Job summary

Career Team is seeking a Project Accountant to manage all financial activities for assigned projects in Deep East Texas. You will focus on invoicing, analysis, and reporting of project finances, while collaborating with leadership and staff to ensure accuracy and confidentiality.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field with 5+ years of experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and advanced Excel plus experience with QuickBooks, Adaptive, Workday, and Expensify.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, business, finance or related field; 5+ years of accounting experience preferred.
• Knowledge of GAAP, ability to reconcile balance sheets and P/L, and implement financial policies.

Responsibilities

• Ensure procedures and policies support accurate financial reporting and compliance with laws and policies.
• Direct budgeting, funds management, accounting, and reporting for projects.
• Prepare and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and working capital needs.
• Provide financial insight to leadership and Workforce Board about project performance.
• Ensure timely fulfillment of financial obligations per policies, budgets, and funding guidelines.
• Coordinate accounting activities by contract and monitor procedures.
• Process expenses, vendor invoices, and payroll analytics for programs.
• Perform month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations; produce reports.
• Support annual audits and respond to audit requests.
• Maintain a proactive, confidential approach in a virtual team setting.
