Job summary

Career Team is seeking a Project Accountant in Texas to manage all financial activities for a project, including invoicing, analysis, and reporting. The role requires interaction with colleagues and customers in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.

The position reports to the Project Director and involves coordinating with leadership and the Workforce Board to provide financial insights and ensure timely payments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance or related field required.
• 5+ years of accounting experience preferred with GAAP knowledge.
• Ability to reconcile balance sheets and P/L reports.
• Experience with budgeting and forecasting across multiple funding streams.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that procedures and policies are in place to facilitate effective and compliant financial reporting.
• Direct fiscal operations relating to financial planning, funds management, accounting, and reporting.
• Prepare and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and working capital requirements.
• Work closely with leadership and staff to provide financial insight and reporting on project performance.
• Ensure timely fulfillment of financial obligations according to policies and funding guidelines.
• Coordinate accounting activities for assigned projects by contract and monitor procedures.
• Process employee expenses, participant expenses, vendor invoices, and payroll analytics.
• Prepare monthly project advance requests, invoices, and supporting documentation; assist with inquiries for timely payment.
• Perform month-end closing activities, including Balance Sheet reconciliations.
• Support annual audits and manage program audit requests.
