Career Team is a leading workforce development organization dedicated to transforming lives through technology, training, and compassionate service. We seek a Project Accountant to manage invoicing, analysis, and reporting for a key project, under the Project Director.

The role is full-time, exempt, and requires strong accounting, GAAP knowledge, and collaboration with leadership and the Workforce Board to deliver timely financial insights with accuracy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, business, finance, or related field, or equivalent with 5+ years of accounting experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP; reconcile balance sheets and P&L; implement financial management policies.
• Experience budgeting/forecasting across multiple funding streams; communicate financial position.
• Advanced MS Excel and accounting software; QuickBooks, Adaptive, Workday, Expensify a plus.
• Ability to work in a dynamic team with strong teamwork and communication.
• Ability to work across all levels of management and staff.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational, analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
• Meet month-end deadlines; proactive; work independently and in virtual team.
• Must possess integrity and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Ensure procedures and policies enable accurate financial reporting and GAAP compliance.
• Direct fiscal operations: planning, funds management, accounting, reporting.
• Prepare and maintain project budgets, forecasts, working capital.
• Provide financial insight to leadership and Workforce Board on project performance.
• Ensure timely fulfillment of financial obligations per policies and funding.
• Coordinate accounting activities by contract; monitor procedures.
• Process expenses, vendor invoices, payroll analytics.
• Prepare monthly project advances, invoices, and supporting docs; liaise with Workforce Boards.
• Perform month-end close and Balance Sheet reconciliations.
• Produce financial reporting: budgets, forecasts, comparisons; support audits.
• Approach each day with a 'ZAG' mindset.
• Other duties as needed.
