Job summary

R.W. Sullivan Engineering is seeking a Project Accountant to manage the financial aspects of engineering projects from setup through closeout.

You will work closely with project managers and accounting to ensure projects are billed accurately and remain compliant with contract terms. Responsibilities include setting up new projects, monitoring budgets and costs, preparing client invoices, tracking accounts receivable, processing changes, and maintaining detailed project documentation.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 2+ years of project accounting experience, preferably within engineering, architecture, construction, or professional services.
• Experience with ERP or project accounting software such as Deltek Vision, Deltek Vantagepoint, Ajera, CMiC, Sage, or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial reporting.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve project accounting processes and reporting tools.
