Job summary

Career Team seeks a Project Accountant to manage financial activities for our projects, focusing on invoicing, analysis, and reporting. The role requires interaction with coworkers and customers in a fast-paced setting, maintaining accuracy and confidentiality under supervision of the Project Director.

Responsibilities include budgeting, forecasting, and coordinating with senior leadership and Workforce Board to provide financial insight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field or equivalent
• GAAP knowledge with ability to reconcile balance sheets and P&L
• Experience budgeting/forecasting across funding streams and financial positions
• Advanced Excel and accounting software skills (QuickBooks, Adaptive, Workday, Expensify)
• Ability to work in a dynamic, collaborative team and maintain confidentiality

Responsibilities

• Manage project budgets, forecasts, and working capital requirements
• Lead financial planning, funds management, accounting, and reporting for projects
• Prepare monthly project advances, invoices, and supporting docs
• Coordinate with leadership, the Project Director, staff, and Workforce Board for financial insights
• Ensure timely financial obligations in line with policies and funding guidelines
• Perform month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations
• Support annual audits and respond to program audit requests
• Maintain procedures to ensure compliant financial reporting
