Job summary

Mercy Health – Youngstown is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join the Progressive Care (Step Down) unit at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

You will deliver high-quality nursing care, assess patient status, develop and execute care plans, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to optimize outcomes. This role requires current RN licensure in Ohio, with 1 year of RN experience and preferred BLS/ACLS certifications, all within a compassionate faith-based environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred but not required.
• Active RN license in State of Ohio.
• ACLS/BLS certifications preferred at hire; ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
• 1 year of RN experience (required).
• 6 months RN experience in an acute care hospital setting (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care team to plan and coordinate patient care.
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments and adjust plans of care accordingly.
• Serve as point of contact for patient care coordination across hospital departments.
• Administer medications safely in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Support patient safety and participate in quality improvement in the department.
