Job summary

Mercy Health in Youngstown, OH seeks a Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver patient care using the nursing process, coordinate teaching, and direct care with the health team. The role emphasizes assessment, plan development, and evidence-based actions across the lifespan.

The position offers a full-time night shift (7:00 pm – 7:30 am) with opportunities for professional development, teamwork, and quality improvement participation within a supportive Mercy Health unit.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of practice or compact licensure.
• BLS required; ACLS preferred and must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• CCRN or PCCN preferred.
• NIH Stroke Certification preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment and develops plans of care.
• Administers medications safely according to policies and procedures.
• Acts as primary liaison for patient care coordination across departments.
• Participates in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
• Provides patient and family education and support.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to coordinate care across the lifespan.
• Incorporates evidence-based practice and clinical judgement in care delivery.
• Ensures compliance with nursing standards and organizational policies.
