Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Progressive Care (Step down) Registered Nurse for Defiance Hospital to deliver high-quality nursing care and coordinate patient transition between Med-Surg and ICU units.

The role emphasizes assessment, care planning, medication administration, collaboration with the care team, and ensuring a safe therapeutic environment. RN licensure and BLS/ACLS are required or pursued per policy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Nursing (preferred)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• BLS Basic Life Support or ACLS (preferred at hire, ACLS within 6 months)
• 1 year of RN experience (required)
• 6 months RN experience in an acute care hospital setting (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessment, analyze data, create a care plan, implement treatment and evaluate effectiveness
• Serve as point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departments
• Act as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement in the department
• Administer medications in a safe manner per state practice and policies
