Job summary

Banner Health’s Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, AZ seeks a Patient Care Assistant to join the Progressive Care Unit (PCU 5W). The role delivers routine patient care, supports daily activities, and assists with data collection and documentation within the EMR system.

The position offers day and night shifts, rotating weekends and holidays, with an 18% night shift differential where applicable. CNA/LNA/PCA experience is preferred, and a $3,000 sign-on incentive is available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Currently certified CNA/LNA or pending licensure in state is preferred.
• BLS certification is required for new hires and transfers.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine patient care to promote comfort and support the plan of care.
• Collect vital signs, input/output, and document data in medical records.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and report to licensed staff.
• Assist with procedures and use equipment under supervision as trained.
• Perform receptionist/clerical duties to support unit operations.
• Maintain accurate patient records, charts, and consent forms.
• Monitor supplies and assist with ordering as needed.
• Assist with patient transport and OR turnover as assigned.
• Support a fast-paced environment with strong customer service.
