Job summary

Banner Health is seeking a Certified Patient Care Assistant to join the PCU Surgical - 4D unit in Mesa, AZ. This fast-paced, high-acuity 37-bed unit emphasizes post-operative and cardiac patient care, with 6PM-6:30AM shifts and weekend/holiday rotations.

The role supports routine patient care, data collection, and unit operations, with an 18% night differential and a $1/hour weekend differential when applicable.

Qualifications

Must have BLS certification.
CNA licensure required for new hires per location.
Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.
Experience with medical terminology and basic clerical tasks preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist patients with activities of daily living and mobility.
Collect vital signs and basic data; document in medical records.
Report changes in patient condition to licensed professional.
Assist with measurements and simple procedures as directed.
Support unit operations and coordinate with care team.
Maintain patient records and ensure chart completeness and accessibility.
Monitor supplies and equipment; assist in OR turnover as needed.
Provide receptionist/clerical support to maintain unit efficiency.
Work under supervision in a fast-paced environment with a focus on patient care and customer service.
