What we’re looking for

As we continue our rapid expansion in the U.S. market, we are seeking a Programmatic Sales Director to drive revenue growth through programmatic partnerships and demand-side relationships. In this role, you will be responsible for establishing and scaling relationships with agencies, trading desks, and DSPs, to maximize programmatic demand for our exclusive gaming and entertainment inventory. This includes identifying, pitching, and closing high-value programmatic opportunities, whilst being the face of Venatus US Programmatic sales, building relationships with key decision-makers, and ensuring that our programmatic partners get the best possible value from Venatus products.

Reporting to the CRO and closely supported by our London-based Programmatic and Yield team, the ideal candidate will stay updated on product and initiative developments while also providing an evolving perspective on the US market.

We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualities:
  • Proven Track Record in Programmatic Sales: A successful history of driving programmatic revenue growth. Experience working directly with agencies, DSPs, and trading desks to build robust, scalable partnerships.

  • Expertise in Data-Driven Strategy: Ability to leverage data insights and analytics to create compelling sales strategies that optimize programmatic revenue and identify high-potential opportunities. Deep understanding of programmatic ecosystems, including trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in campaign optimization.

  • Strong Relationship Building and Networking Skills: A natural leader and connector who can effectively network with key stakeholders across various organizations, building long-term, strategic relationships that result in sustained programmatic revenue.

  • Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams to execute programmatic sales initiatives. Collaboration with internal stakeholders within a matrix organisation (Sales, Operations, Product, Publisher Success) to optimize the alignment between product offerings and market demand.

  • Experience with Revenue Forecasting & Reporting: Ability to track, analyze, and report on programmatic sales performance, providing clear insights and forecasts for revenue growth to senior leadership. Demonstrated ability to use performance metrics to inform sales strategies.

What You’ll Do

Drive Programmatic Revenue Growth

  • Work closely with the VP, North America to drive the revenue target for the US programmatic business, ensuring that goals are met or exceeded through strategic execution and ongoing performance monitoring.

  • Develop and execute a strategic GTM plan to increase US programmatic ad revenue through PG, PMP, Curated and agency marketplace deals. This will be accomplished through close internal collaboration with your sales colleagues who manage the relationships with brands and agencies.

  • Identify, pitch, and close new business opportunities with brands, agencies, trading desks, and DSPs.

  • Provide programmatic training and thought leadership across internal teams to ensure alignment, promote best practice and drive revenue growth.

Build & Strengthen Strategic Partnerships

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with demand-side partners, ensuring Venatus is a preferred Programmatic partner for media buys.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to refine Venatus’ programmatic offering and align it with market demands.

  • Represent Venatus at industry events, conferences, and networking functions to build brand awareness and grow our market presence.

Optimise Programmatic Strategy & Performance

  • Leverage data-driven insights to improve campaign performance and maximise revenue.

  • Analyse key sales and performance metrics, providing regular reports on pipeline growth and revenue impact.

  • Stay ahead of industry trends, including changes in programmatic technology, privacy regulations, and market dynamics.

  • Identify new opportunities for innovation and growth within the programmatic ecosystem.

Lead Commercial Negotiations & facilitate tech integrations

  • Work closely with finance and legal teams to negotiate deal terms and secure long-term partnerships.

  • Ensure seamless onboarding and integration of programmatic demand partners with the support of tech and operations teams.

  • Advocate for programmatic-specific product enhancements by collaborating with Product and Engineering teams.

What You Bring:
  • 5+ years of experience in programmatic sales, business development, or account management within the digital advertising industry.

  • Proven track record of closing programmatic deals and driving significant revenue growth.

  • Strong network of agency, trading desk, DSP, and brand-side programmatic contacts.

  • Deep understanding of the programmatic ecosystem, including SSPs, DSPs, PMPs, and OpenRTB protocols.

  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.

  • Ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable sales strategies.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to thrive in a fast-growing, evolving business environment.
