Job summary

YAI - Seeing beyond disability is seeking a supervisory professional to oversee health, safety, and habilitation for people we support in Manhattan. You will supervise residents and staff, ensure documentation is complete, and lead interdisciplinary team meetings.

The role emphasizes relationship-building with families, program planning, budget adherence, and maintaining a harassment-free work environment. A BA/BS and supervisory experience are strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• BA/BS strongly preferred; supervisory exp required; Direct Support Professional exp preferred.
• Background in supporting people with intellectual/developmental disabilities or mental health preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills; written communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health, safety, and habilitation of people we support per agency practices.
• Provide appropriate supervision in residence, day program, or community settings.
• Provide program/floor coverage as needed.
• Develop empathic relationships with family members and include them in team process.
• Lead interdisciplinary and staff meetings to ensure effective communication.
• Participate in planning meetings for the people we support.
• Foster interagency collaboration and positive organizational culture.
• Participate in hiring and staff development processes.
• Maintain oversight of systems and ensure compliance with role responsibilities.
• Oversee financial systems and program expenditures within budget.
• Ensure paperwork and records are complete (medical, treatment, progress, data, etc.).
• Monitor incidents and assist with investigations as needed.
