Job summary

YAI in Centereach, NY is seeking a Program Manager to oversee direct support programs, staff supervision, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality services.

The role requires a BA/BS, supervisory and Direct Support Professional experience, strong writing and interpersonal skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office; a valid driver’s license is preferred. This position is full-time and on-site.

Qualifications

• BA/BS strongly preferred and supervisory experience required.
• Direct Support Professional experience preferred.
• Background in supporting people with intellectual/developmental disabilities or mental health preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring health, safety, and habilitation of the people we support consistent with agency philosophy and department practices.
• Ensuring appropriate, therapeutically documented supervision in residences, day programs or community.
• Providing program/floor coverage, when necessary.
• Promoting and maintaining program excellence.
• Developing professional, empathic relationships with families.
• Leading and facilitating interdisciplinary team meetings and staff meetings.
• Fostering interagency collaboration and organizational culture.
• Maintaining a harassment-free work environment and participating in hiring.
• Building staff morale and supervising staff to meet needs and standards.
• Utilizing participatory management and Open-Door policy.
• Overseeing financial systems, records, and program expenditures.
