Job summary

YAI Network in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a Program Supervisor to oversee health, safety, and habilitation for individuals we support. You will supervise staff, ensure documentation, and lead interdisciplinary meetings to maintain high program standards.

The role requires a BA/BS or equivalent with prior supervisory experience and a background in supporting people with intellectual/developmental disabilities. Strong communication and MS Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS strongly preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience required.
  • Prior Direct Support Professional experience preferred.
  • Background in supporting people with intellectual/developmental disabilities or mental health preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring health, safety, and habilitation of the people we support consistent with agency philosophy and department practices.
  • Ensuring appropriate supervision in residence, day program or community for health and safety.
  • Providing program/floor coverage when necessary.
  • Promoting and maintaining excellence of the programs.
  • Developing professional relationships with family members and including them in the team process.
  • Leading and facilitating interdisciplinary team meetings and staff meetings; attending supervisor meetings and planning meetings.
  • Fostering interagency collaboration and organizational culture.
  • Maintaining harassment- and discrimination-free work environment.
  • Playing an active role in hiring; interviewing and selecting staff based on program needs.
  • Maintaining direct relationship with staff and building staff morale.
  • Fostering professional development through supervision, training, and evaluations.
  • Supervising staff to meet needs and agency standards; utilizing participatory management.
  • Maintaining open-door policy and ensuring systems oversight and compliance.
  • Maintaining communication with all supports; overseeing financial systems and program budgets.
  • Ensuring safety and reporting hazardous conditions; maintaining paperwork and records related to treatment.
  • Reporting and monitoring incidents; assisting with investigations as needed.

Schedule

  • Monday - Friday; 9am - 5pm (flexibility required)

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring health, safety, and habilitation of the people we support consistent with agency philosophy and department practices.
  • Ensuring the appropriate, therapeutically documented level of supervision in the residence, day program or community to ensure and protect the health and/or safety of the people we support.
  • Providing program/floor coverage, when necessary.
  • Promoting and maintaining the excellence of the programs
  • Developing professional, empathic relationships with family members ensuring they are included in the team process.
  • Leading and facilitating interdisciplinary team meetings and staff meetings to ensure effective communication. Attend regional and agency supervisor meeting or as directed by your supervisor. Attending and actively participating in the planning meeting for the people we support.

  • Fostering communication and maintaining professional between relevant supports including those within the program, within the agency, and supports outside the agency
  • Overseeing all financial systems, maintaining records for the people we support and program expenditures.
  • Operating the program within budgetary guidelines.
  • Maintaining a safe environment for staff and the people we support and reporting any hazardous conditions.
  • Ensuring the completion and maintenance of all paperwork and written records related to individual treatment. This includes but is not limited to medical records, treatment records, progress reports, data collection, behavior reports, incident reports, billing records, and all written communication systems.
  • Reporting and monitoring incidents, as well as assist with the investigative process.
  • Required to perform your responsibilities as they currently exist or may change in meeting the needs of the department, under the supervision of your supervisor/manager.

Education And Experience

  • BA/BS strongly preferred
  • Prior supervisory experience required
  • Prior Direct Support Professional experience preferred
  • Background in supporting people with intellectual/developmental disabilities or mental health preferred

Compensation

  • $ 66,300 annualized
