Qualifications

  • Must be physically present in the office to effectively perform job duties and responsibilities
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), iBuilder, iViewer, Adobe Acrobat, and LEIDS systems
  • At least two (2) years of management experience
  • Ability to compile, organize and analyze data
  • Ability to understand and apply Florida Statutes, rules, policies, and procedures
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work activities independently
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
  • Ability to type with sufficient speed to transcribe meeting minutes
  • Ability to complete editorial reviews of documents for errors
  • Ability to learn and communicate effectively, orally and in writing, in English
  • Successful completion of required security background check and/or drug screening
  • Employment eligibility verification through Form I-9 and E-Verify
  • Male applicants born on or after October 1, 1962, must meet Selective Services System registration or exemption requirements

Responsibilities

  • Oversee regulatory and administrative processes supporting the Florida Board of Massage Therapy and Florida Council of Licensed Midwifery
  • Analyze, formulate, and recommend process improvements
  • Manage preparation of Board and Council meeting agendas
  • Travel to and represent the Board and/or Department at Board or related meetings at least four times per year
  • Review enforcement and compliance data as part of the licensure process
  • Participate in Board office management and leadership activities
  • Lead special projects and coordinate functions with team members
  • Function as Acting Board Executive Director in the Executive Director’s absence
  • Supervise a team of eight staff, including two direct reports
  • Plan workloads, workflows, deadlines, and work objectives
  • Evaluate, train, hire, discipline, and promote staff as appropriate
  • Ensure regular staff meetings and effective office communication
  • Provide verbal and written guidance to educators, applicants, licensees, and the public on statutory, rule, and policy requirements
  • Evaluate policies and procedures, conduct research and analysis, and recommend changes to management
