- Serve as Team Lead for the Board of Medicine and report to and assist the Program Operations Administrator
- Perform professional and regulatory activities for the Board of Medicine
- Conduct error reporting, train incoming team members, and execute quality control activities
- Review applications to determine eligibility for licensure
- Evaluate applicant qualifications and licensure criteria according to laws and rules
- Respond to telephonic and written inquiries concerning licensure requirements
- Maintain filing systems for applications, correspondence, requirements for other states, and general files
- Process applications for other unit professions as required
- Review and evaluate transcripts, degrees, and educational materials for certification and licensure eligibility
- Enter and maintain accurate data and upload documentation in electronic databases
- Respond via writing, online chat, and phone to inquiries about licensure status, deficiencies, requirements, statutes, rules, and technical issues
- Research educational materials, Florida Statutes, Board rules, and related items to assess accreditation standards
- Establish and maintain paper and electronic filing systems
- Prepare agenda materials for board and committee meetings and attend meetings when needed
- Summarize application files and supporting documentation for Board member review
- Train new employees and assist with office phone coverage
- Run daily reports to monitor efficiency and statutory deadlines
- Review team members’ work for accuracy
Requirements
- Must be physically present in the office to effectively perform job duties and responsibilities
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in writing and verbally
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative in carrying out assignments
- Ability to learn, understand, and apply Florida Statutes, rules, policies, and procedures for licensing
- Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work activities to meet strict deadlines
- Ability to concentrate, provide great attention to detail, and maintain a pre-approved work schedule
- Ability to work independently and establish and maintain dependable, effective working relationships with others
- Ability to learn and utilize job‑specific software such as LEIDS and AxiomPro
- Ability to use phones, fax machines, scanners, and copiers
- Knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft Office software and Windows-based computers
- Successful security background check and/or drug screening
- Direct deposit participation
- Ability to learn and communicate effectively, orally and in writing, in English
- Male applicants born on or after October 1, 1962, must be registered with the Selective Services System before their 26th birthday or have a Letter of Registration Exemption
- Must complete Form I‑9 and satisfy E‑Verify employment eligibility verification
- May be required to perform emergency duty before, during, and/or beyond normal work hours or days
