Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a diligent IT support specialist in Florida to configure and maintain end-user workstations and wireless devices across Monroe County DOH sites. You will deploy system images, troubleshoot issues, and train staff in software usage and digital practices.

You will travel between clinics, manage inventory, and collaborate on health initiatives, ensuring operations run smoothly and securely while upholding agency values.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a valid, unrestricted Florida driver’s license throughout employment.
  • Knowledge of DOH policies, administrative requirements, and agency values.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware, software installation, imaging, and lifecycle management.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory management, SCCM imaging, and help desk operations.
  • Knowledge of inventory processes, asset tracking, and surplus procedures.
  • Skill installing, configuring, and supporting workstations, wireless devices, and peripherals.
  • Skill troubleshooting technical issues remotely and in person.
  • Skill maintaining accurate inventory records and coordinating equipment repairs.
  • Skill delivering user training on software, system navigation, and digital best practices.
  • Ability to travel between Monroe County DOH sites as needed.
  • Ability to manage multiple technical tasks while maintaining agency compliance.
  • Ability to prepare, relocate, and decommission equipment with minimal disruption.
  • Ability to provide dependable user support and adapt to evolving technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate across units.
  • Must be able to learn and communicate effectively, orally and in writing, in English.
  • Must successfully complete required security background check and, where applicable, drug screening.
  • Must complete Form I-9 and satisfy employment eligibility verification requirements.
  • May be required to perform emergency duty before, during, and/or beyond normal work hours.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, install, maintain, and support end-user workstations, wireless devices, peripherals, hardware, and software.
  • Replace outdated technology under End of Life service agreements.
  • Relocate IT equipment between facilities with minimal disruption.
  • Verify hardware and software functionality after installation or relocation.
  • Prepare decommissioned computers for surplus according to procedures.
  • Coordinate warranty and non-warranty equipment repair service calls.
  • Document equipment relocations and updates in the inventory management system.
  • Develop and deploy system images using SCCM or equivalent software.
  • Troubleshoot issues remotely and in person and record resolutions in the help desk system.
  • Train end users on orientation, software usage, system navigation, and digital best practices.
  • Serve as a technical resource for agency staff.
  • Collaborate with other agency units and participate in health fairs, immunization outreach, disaster support, quality improvement activities, and staff meetings.

Job description

  • Support the Florida Department of Health in Monroe County's mission and agency values
  • Configure, install, maintain, and support end-user workstations, wireless devices, peripherals, hardware, and software
  • Replace outdated technology under manufacturer End of Life service agreements
  • Relocate IT equipment between facilities with minimal operational disruption
  • Verify hardware and software functionality after installation or relocation
  • Prepare decommissioned computers for surplus according to established procedures
  • Coordinate warranty and non-warranty equipment repair service calls
  • Document equipment relocations and updates in the inventory management system
  • Create, manage, and maintain user and device objects in Active Directory
  • Develop and deploy system images using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM) or equivalent software
  • Troubleshoot issues remotely and in person and record resolutions in the help desk ticketing system
  • Consult with the Helpdesk Team Lead on complex or unfamiliar issues
  • Train end users on orientation, software usage, system navigation, troubleshooting, and digital best practices
  • Serve as a technical resource for agency staff
  • Complete EARS, timesheets, and People First entries within required timeframes
  • Collaborate with other agency units, participate in health fairs, immunization outreach, disaster support, quality improvement activities, and staff meetings
  • Travel routinely between clinics in Marathon and Tavernier and potentially other Monroe County clinical sites
  • Perform other duties as assigned
